A Park Visit with Cousins

Thursday promised to be so beautiful that we could no longer remain inside. We woke up, headed to target for a few DVD's for Kristi and Gabe's flights back to California, and then headed to Heritage Park to let the kids get some air and sunshine. It was a gorgeous day, and while the park was a bit wet (which Eli slowly made sure to step and/or sit in each and every water spot), the sun quickly dried up the playground equipment and the kids had a great time.

This is Eli's favorite thing at Heritage park. He likes to climb up, go down the slide, and then climb up again. Gabe of course had to follow suit.

Busy, Busy Day

Wednesday turned out to be a very busy day. We decided to head out the door at 8:45am and get all three kids a hair cut. Hannah was an angel, sitting perfectly still and patiently waiting her turn. We ended up having to cut off about an inch in order to get her ends back in order, but you can barely tell since her hair is so long. She made sure to point out to the hair dresser that she had to get her down to her bottom because that would make her a princess. Interesting... The boys' hair cuts were not so easy. Eli struggled with all the strength he had, and therefore I struggled with all the strength I had, which very soon will not be enough to subdue him. The Boy is a very strong fellow. After what felt like hours of fighting, his hair cut was finished, then it was Gabe's turn. Gabe being the petite fellow that he is put up a small fight, but his Mommy was able to hold him much better. And since he doesn't have as much hair as poor Eli, Gabe's hair cut took maybe only 5 mins. A very stressful beginning to the day indeed.

After the hair cuts we decided to head to the Wiggle Room. I hadn't planned on this excursion and therefore did not have the camera. The kids had a great time playing and Gabe and Hannah even created some great master pieces in the art area. The Wiggle Room is a wonderful play place for sweet, quiet children, but not necessarily the greatest place for monster Eli. He's definitely more of a park kind of kid.

After the Wiggle Room we headed to McDonald's to pick up lunch, then home for naps so that the Mommies could prepare for our next adventure the Louisiana Children's Museum and Aunt Nikki's house.

We met my friends Amy and Andrea at the LCM (La Children's Museum) along with all of their kids. (So all together we had, in age order, Xander, Aiden, Hannah, Roman, Eli, Gabe, and Delaney. WOW!) The LCM was a little busy and it became a little difficult to keep up with all of the kids and try to have some conversations in between. The kids really enjoyed themselves and were a little sad to leave, but we promised that we were on to our next adventure, Aunt Nikki's House!!

Here is the only good picture from Aunt Nikki's House. I am a terrible Aunt and forgot to snap a few pics of Aunt Nikki and Uncle Kent with Gabe, I'm REALLY sorry!!!! Gabe really enjoyed seeing Aunt Nikki again. He especially liked perusing Aunt Nikki's photo album. Oh, and the kids truly enjoyed terrorizing Aunt Nikki's two little chihuahuas. I don't think the puppies shared this sentiment.

Chuck E Cheese Tuesday

Tuesday the weather was still chilly so we headed to Chuck E Cheese. This was Kristi and Gabe's first time at Chuck E Cheese, and I think Gabe really enjoyed it. There aren't many pictures since I was attempting to keep up with both of my children, all of our stuff, and trying to snap pictures in between...yeah, that didn't work out too well, but all in all it was a lot of fun, and everyone took a nice nap when we got home!

A Little Time Outside

We were so lucky this week that my younger sister Kristin was given an extra week off of work and chose to use that time to come and visit us!!! She arrived Sunday evening very late, and all the fun began early Monday. The weather was not very nice, so we spent most of the day in the house, but we tried to head to the great outdoors for a little bit in the afternoon only to be driven back inside after about 20 minutes of the wind. Here are a few shots of our time outside!

Concept of Money

This morning we headed to Academy and Target to hunt for a travel bag for Ben. Since it was close to eleven when we decided we were done I suggested getting McDonald's on the way home. (We've been pretty much cooped up in the house for a week now, and my craving for junk food has been strong the past couple of days.) Anyway, Hannah was very excited by this idea and begged for "nuggets, sweet and sour, tea and fries." Ben, with his smart butt self, asked her if she had any money. Hannah responded with a terse "No, you have money." Ben laughed, "Oh, I do, do I?" Hannah looking shocked said, "Yes." Ben asked, "And what if I don't have any money?" And Hannah replied with a simple, "You can use your card then!" Ben looked right at me and said, "I think your Mommy is teaching you bad habits." Um, Hello!, all I use is the debit card!!!

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 was a wonderful event. Santa Claus brought Hannah everything she asked for and in doing so left a boot print mess all over my house!! (Santa leaves magic dust, boot prints where ever he walks.) We were pleased to see that he enjoyed the milk and cookies (chocolate milk of course, Hannah wouldn't allow Santa to drink anything less). This really was the first year that Eli understood what was going on, and was able to open his presents all by himself. Hannah of course is an old pro and didn't waste any time being awe struck. She went straight to work. Here are a few snap shots of our Christmas....
