Pool Fun

Last Thursday, out of the blue, Ben decided we need to buy a pool for the kids.

This was a shocking revelation for me. Ben hates pools. And water. And, well, swimming. I was shocked to say the least.

He didn't waste much time running to Wal-Mart to purchase a pool. I guess he didn't want to give himself time to change his mind.

And of course setting the pool up wasn't easy. Nothing we under take is ever easy.

See, our yard isn't level. There is a slight slope pretty much everywhere and when you attempt to set up an above ground pool on a slight slope, well, the water slopes.

So Ben started digging.

And digging.

And measuring, and digging some more until he achieved what he felt was "level enough."

I always appreciate that "good enough" attitude in men. It pretty much means "screw this, I'm done, it will have to work, cause I ain't doing this crap no more."

Oh, and I love all of you guys with all my heart.

Honest!

Anyway, Ben achieved a certain level of levelness.....hehe....then set up the pool. It took quite a few hours to fill up, and then we let it warm up the next day.

The kids were begging to jump in. So finally on Saturday I gave in and they all jumped in clothes and all. I'm pretty sure they liked it.

Sunday rolled around and we invited a few friends to come enjoy the pool with us. Amy, Xander, and Delaney were happy to take a dip. I do believe the kids were in the water for about 3 hours. I was exhausted just watching them.

I didn't get many great shots. I have a hard time when the kids are moving around like crazy, but here is what I was able to get.
This shot is for Mom so she can see where we put the pool in the yard.
Amy was able to get some better shots. Here is the link to her blog: http://crazy4castillo.blogspot.com/2010/06/sundy-at-kreemers.html
