Eli's Tired of Running Errands

Literally. I had one more stop to make at the shipping store, and then we were headed home. Of course Eli fell asleep on the way there. I decided I would just hold him the few minutes necessary to get this errand off the huge list. Well, when we got to the counter he asked to get down. I thought he wanted to look at a few things, but no, he laid at my feet and went to sleep. I couldn't believe it.

We headed to the mall last night to pick up part of Grandpa's Christmas present, and of course they had to have the HUGE boot prints all over the mall leading the way to Santa. And of course the store I needed to go to was right next to Santa. So we saw Santa. $28 later, we had a screaming two year old, a thrilled four year old (Santa is her "hero"), and a terrible picture to capture these wonderful memories. I love Christmas.

Dear Santa

Monday we received a note from Hannah's teacher stating that she needed to write Santa a letter as a homework assignment. I thought this was an awesome idea so we sat down together and discussed what she should write. After much debate and argument we had a letter where I wrote down what Hannah asked me too. I didn't keep a copy of this, but the letter was about 10 sentences long. I didn't think anything of it, but once Hannah wrote "Dear" on her copy I realized that there was no way 10 sentences was going to work so we settled for this.

It reads, Dear Santa, I love you. I have been good. Please bring me a lamp. Hannah.

Thanksgiving In Memphis

Thanksgiving week we headed to Memphis to spend some time with my Mom and Dad. We were all really looking forward to the trip since we hadn't been to visit since Mother's Day!! The kids did well on the 7 hour trip up there, and were very well behaved pretty much the entire week. We mostly just hung out around the house, which was exactly what I needed! Thursday came, Mom did all of the cooking because I was fighting off a cold and losing the battle miserably. The meal was delicious, but as with previous years the kids just don't get what all the big deal is about! It's just dinner. Hannah ate maybe two bites of mashed potatoes and a roll, while Eli mostly made a mess. It is all ok though cause I enjoyed the wonderful homemade food. I LOVE my mom's cooking!

Grandma and Grandpa gave Eli his birthday present early so that they would be able to see him play with it. It is a train set built for smaller kids. He LOVES it, especially when he gets to be Godzilla and crush all the little minions!

Eli put himself in a tight spot, and got stuck. Of course, me being the caring, concerned Mother that I am ran and got the camera, so Grandma had to help him out.

Grandpa walked into the living room, Eli walked over and took his hand and dragged him toward Grandpa's chair, but Grandma was sitting in it. So Eli let go of Grandpa's hand, grabbed Grandma's, pulled her up, and then went back to Grandpa, grabbed his hand, and told him to sit in his chair (in Eli language of course). So, Grandpa was forced to watch "Up," again.
