Prison

We have been trying to make the transition from crib to toddler bed with Eli. To say it nicely, it hasn't been going well. He discovered that he rather enjoys the game of getting up, opening the door, and peeking out to see what is going on in the rest of the house. This happens on average between 15 and 20 times a night, and usually lasts over an hour (one night it lasted two hours). So, we decided to put him back in the crib. Low and behold Eli figured out how to climb out of the crib so he could continue his game. The game is getting old quickly!

Well, at one of our play dates I was complaining about Eli's game when another mother said, "Just turn his door knob so the lock is on the outside." Cruel you say...GENIUS I say!! Why didn't I think of that?!? Monday afternoon I changed his door knob. That night we put him to bed and locked the door from the outside. After a few moments you could hear him struggling to open the door. I let him fight with it for about 10 minutes, then went in there and put him back to bed. I have heard from him after bedtime since!!! FINALLY, we can take down the crib. Thank you Tiffany!!

Naughty List

Tonight we watched the Phineas & Ferb Christmas special on Disney XD. It was a great story line, and really cute to watch. Hannah really enjoyed the show. The best moment was when Dr. Doofenshmirtz decided he didn't like Christmas and was going to ruin it for everyone. I asked Hannah if Dr. Doof liked Christmas and she said, "No, because he is on the naughty list. (Insert me giggling.) No, Mommy, the naughty list isn't funny." My little girl is finally old enough to understand about Santa...awesome!

Eli's 2nd Birthday Celebration

This evening we celebrated Eli's 2nd birthday with a small family dinner, just us, Grandma and Grandpa Kreemer, Noah, Sara, and Jennifer. Eli really enjoyed having the family here. He played with his sister and cousins until his hair was sweat soaked. The best part for me was that he actually opened his presents all by himself!! He only ripped very small pieces off at a time, and it took forever, BUT he did it himself. Guess we won't be placing any wrapped presents under the tree early this year. Another favorite for me was the awesome cake our neighbor Kim made for Eli. She slaved over this gorgeous cake for our boy, and it tasted as good as it looked! Thank you Kim! I loved watching him try to blow out the candles. I caught a few moments of this on video. Hope you enjoy!

Eli Peed on the Potty

I have been putting Eli on the potty for about 2 or 3 weeks now. He loves to "go pee pee." He knows how to put his little sit on the big toilet, and just sit there. Yep, he wouldn't actually go potty, but just sit there and then flush the toilet over and over. Well, last night before putting is pajamas on I sat him on the potty and as soon as he sat down he peed a little. I clapped and cheered like we had just won a million dollars, and he clapped and cheered with a huge smile on his face. I guess he realized that I was happy that he went pee pee, so he went some more. Of course he played in it, but he went!! Let's hope he'll be easier than Hannah!
